Didn't catch the number, but one of the new Sheffield Connect vehicles was going past Shalesmoor on the back of a wrecker this evening at about 5:30.
Not sure if I was reading correctly, but it sounds like the two services combined need 4 buses and they only have 4, so not sure if this means dropped journeys or if they'll just bring a diesel bus down to cover.

Bus was stolen whilst on charge overnight at Sheffield Interchange and taken for a joyride !! (Reg was LF24 ZNN)

I guess that's one down-side of leaving them in public rather than a more enclosed depot. Does that mean they don't go back to a depot overnight but stay in Sheffield all the time? (Presumably occasional trips somewhere for checks and servicing)

I can't believe they get left overnight on the Interchange. Wow. I hope South Pennine aren't having to cough up on their insurance and SYMCA pay out for it as it's their ill thought out idea. It was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

It was only a matter of time before something like this happened. Well you can't really invest in electrical infrastructure at a particular depot, when the service is operated on a contracted basis to SYMCA. Therefore it makes sense to have the vehicles stored at a SYMCA owned and operated site. Better security measures could've been included - such as barriers at the end of B runway.

They could have installed the chargers at an SYMCA site surely. After all, even if they don't now I'd imagine they will be getting electric vans and other minibuses in the not too distant future so some infrastructure will be needed.
It's been mentioned elsewhere that the Interchange (or indeed any other site where they could be stored) isn't registered as an operating centre which appears to be against the rules. They also (along with the rest of South Pennine's services) don't appear to be sending data to BODS which is also a tad naughty.
From a passenger perspective, the ability to track the free buses in Manchester is very useful, and I'd imagine the same will apply here, especially for the SC2 which runs less frequently.
