The rather ill-starred services ( cancellations, undercarriage collapse)to Belfast/IoM are showing signs of growth. August saw the Belfast service having a load factor of 68.2% and the I o M service 69.6%.

And here was me thinking that that would be a real post ^.^
Otherwise, there's proposals with funding from BMI Regional for a DSA - Frankfurt route as part of the start up scheme by the government for airport with less than 5 million pax per year. Wizzair are also expanding the route I believe to Bucharest from twice weekly to three times weekly.

It was a "real post"....when it was written...over a year ago and the Frankfurt proposal is almost as old!

You don't understand what the "real post" i was referring to was, as it was a spam post which was deleted! I'm aware the Frankfurt proposals are quite old now, but have they been mentioned? No. I was mentioning it as its a possibility that could happen that maybe not everyone is aware about.

Why refer to it then? Incidentally, last month DSA saw a 9% increase on previous years figures and the Dublin figure was just short of 2000.

Starting next year you will be able to fly courtesy of Wizzair to Cluj...the capital of Transylvania. Wizz have now carried almost a quarter of all passengers flying from DSA.!

FARRRS is now open and Flybe are shortly to commence their range of services...will this be the real start of a succesful future for DSA? The new road has, apparantly, cut journey times down to 30 minutes from Castle Square to the airport,,,but one suspects that timing was done at a quiet period...Anyone timed it yet?

From the M18 J3* Castle Square is a tram stop

Castle Square is, indeed, a tram stop...but the roundabout on which the tramstop was subsequently built is still known as Castle Square. I think the timing I was referring to started at the big roundabout leading to the Parkway and that is known as... Park Square.

After a raft of new routes from DSA it would seem that Aer Lingus (Stobart) will be pulling the route to Dublin this autumn.
