I have to say that liking your own post is a bit unusual Lysander. It's a little like congratulating your hand after masturbating. I like that post, I always wondered why my hand had a smile on it, lol

Forgive me for having strong opinions but , in any case, I hadn't realised I had "liked" my post. Perhaps it was a typo? In any case I have been a member of this forum for far too long so, after your prompting, I reckon I shall give it a rest!

Does anyone know whether the majority of "tram replacement" buses have returned to Hull/ Oxford/ Cambridge/ Dundee/ Manchester etc?
(since the current phase only requires a handful of buses to loop round the city centre from Granville Square to the Cathedral, compared to the five minute service on the Hillsborough corridor)

I think the majority of tram replacement buses are still in use at Holbrook - there's quite a few Hybrids off the road at the moment.

Current works is running a few days ahead of schedule, the last of the big jobs of the area 7 works is this weekend then Volker Rail will have a week of snagging tasks with an expectation of returning the track to Supertram for test trams on Friday. There could be a normal service next weekend before area 8 works commence on Monday 29th June. The service pattern in area 8: Yellow route tram - Middlewood to Meadowhall as normal Purple route tram - suspended Blue route tram (1) - Malin Bridge to Sheffield Station OR Cricket Inn Road (See below) Blue route tram (2) - Gleadless Townend to Halfway Bus B8 - Fitzalan Square to Gleadless Townend, limited stop. Bus P8 - Fitzalan Square to Herdings Park, via Park Grange Road For the first week of area 8 works, there is also works on the railway bridge near Sheffield Station taking place so blue trams will be diverted to Cricket Inn Road instead of Sheffield Station. Replacement buses will serve Sheffield Station (Sheaf Street bus stops). A timetable booklet can be downloaded at www.supertram.com
