If it is indeed what i have just read on another thread on this forum that the X12/X19 are going to interwork, will they still be using the ELC Omnidecker buses, or will they be using some new buses? As their is only 7 omnideckers how can this be done with the X12 requiring 2 buses, 1 if timetings are right, and the X19 2, leaving the 226 with 3/4 buses, even though the route will become longer now it is getting extended to great houghton, unless of course the X12/X19 or the 226 is not to be run by ELC Omnideckers anymore? Any help/comments regaring this issue greatly apprechiated.

Wait i have just had a thought, unless the 2 Volvo B7TL vyking buses are also brought in for these 3 routes, then that could just be right.

226 will require 5 buses - Scania omnidekka. X12/X19 will require 4 buses - MAN Saloons. The remaining two omnidekkas & the two B7 deckers will work service 57.

Hmm interesting. So the 57 being converted back to low floor deckers like it was before then. X12 proving quite popular then if large buses are need all the time then and the X19 going from Omnidekka operation downsizing to MANs.

Great news if the X12 is getting 'deckers scheduled - is it still tendered though? Guess not if the numbers justify double deckers.

Did you actually read what was written two posts above? The X12 is going to be MAN SINGLE DECKERS.

Will these be the new MAN's they have just had from Sheffields order or will they be the older ones which were cast-off's from Manchester?

I resent the comment "cast off's". I am sure that Manchester would have found work for V & 54 plate MAN's had Barnsley not been in need of some newer vehicles. The 54 plate MAN should be allocated to X12/X19. I prefer "internal transfer"!

The X12 already uses man buses, due to the solos not being able to cope with the deamand at times, even seen some omnideckers on their before, not sure why the 57 needs deckers though, or in fact the 226, the X19 does require deckers particular at peak times.
Also what are Man Saloons? Are these the V reg mans, the MX54 reg mans or the SV55/YN07 mans?

oops, looks like the question i have asked as being answered, whilst i was typing out my question, shame the omnideckers wont be used on the X12 though, they are really good going down the motorway at top speed ;D

I am not aware of any loadings of 70+ passengers on the X19! However as the 212 (219) is being doubled in frequency, the loadings will spread more anyway. The 226 does require double deckers.

I remember not that long ago that the X19, on Doncaster market days used to be so popular that 2 deckers ran together. I think that the 57 will need deckers now that there will be 2 less bus routes, the 56 & 58 running to Royston. Even now where there are 4 Stagecoach routes running there, the 57 has had nearly full when there are deckers running on it.

it's a shame the omnideckers wont be running on the X12/X19 routes anymore from this weekend, but im sure the man saloons will be just as good, if not better, it would be good to see the 07 reg buses on this route, but im sure they will go onto another route.
