Optare Tempo YJ05 XOO has at long last finally being sold on. This vehicle was the dedicated vehicle allocated to the 707 Airport Arrow up to July 2010 when this service was withdrawn, due to funding no longer being provided by Peel Holdings.
The vehicle since July has being used on the night B&Q Shuttle between Red House (Doncaster) and Scunthorpe and as also seen service from time to time on the local Doncaster working during the daytime, most notably the 52 Skellow and 178 Woodlands.
Alongside YJ05 XOO, 2 of the YJ54 UB# batch of Optare Solos are also being withdrawn and sold on due to no further use at Wilfreda Beehive following the withdrawal of the 178 today. Not sure of which vehicles are earmarked for sale, but will try and find out over the weekend.

The Tempo has been advertised in the comics over the last few weeks for £50,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Presumably a more modest ofer has secxured the ting a new home.

Not sure of the operator Barry, but for £50,000 that they were wanting I hope the purchase was worth it, given the vehicle has clocked up more than 496,000 miles since it first arrived in 2005.
Optare Solos earmarked for sale are YJ54 UBT/UBU (29 seaters). The Scania Irizars may also be going soon too.

Are wilfreda beehive ceasing or just downsizing? If you read the above posts properly, you will clearly see that they are no longer required due to the 178 being withdrawn and no other replacement work being taken on. Out of interest, why are the 54 plated Solos being sold on, rather than the older Y - HWT batch of vehicles?

The Optare Tempo moved to its new home in Leeds this morning. Au revoir YJ05 XOO...

Worth noting the last day of service for YJ05 XOO was ferrying the riot police to Moorlands Prison - following the rioting that has taken place over the last few days, due to Wilfreda Beehive having the contract with H.M.S. Prison Service in Doncaster.

Any news on the supposed black Tempo to re-start the 707 with? Don't look too much into the 707 going, as d id I mention Wilfreda Beehive have a brand new black Optare Tempo due, to join YJ05 XOO which will be remaining in the fleet and be used on a interim basis for a B&Q Shuttle between Redhouse and Scunthorpe. Oops I've done it now!

This is not a vehicle sale, but I didnt really want to start a new topic. Does anybody know the Registration of the MAN R33 Coach Wilfreda Beehive had/have? It had a Beulas Cygnus body and was 12.2m long, or so I was led to believe. Was it PN07EHL?
Thanks-Sean

Are wilfreda beehive ceasing or just downsizing? They'll be selling more vehicles soon due to the up coming cuts and loss of work.
