The problem is that informant is not updated on the net
Callers to travel line are told to use the net see above
It is not unusual for them to stop all other services on the net ie timetables this is the time when people need them , as people decide not to use the car , so therefore they look on net for details of net work but it is often suspended during bad weather.
We have had the web site crashing repeatedly during bad weather in deed on yesterdays radio Sheffield a spokesman for the pte told people to ring travel line. Radio Sheffield then played a recording of the message - you are 19th in the que
Surely there should be a web server that can cope with the volume of traffic that bad weather generates.

Not confirmed but you could say its fairly reliable info-First pulling buses off in Sheffield until further notice conditions just too silly to be operating any kind of timetable. Im told there was 5 52s stuck on Retford Rd at one point. Meadowheads a complete no-go due to a jackknifed lorry and people stuck in cars allover. There were 52's and X5's all over the place on Retford Road this morning. Couple of years ago when it was comparable weather - Oly's and B9's on the then X4/X5/X6 were going up and down fine while the B7l's on the 52's were having all sorts of problems. Now cos they all use B7l's it was chaos on that road, they seem to be the worst things to cope with snow! Really odd part about the disruption at this end is that Beaver Hill Road was upgraded on gritting to a priority route, due to it being a bus route. However they've left Badger estate as low priority, so we end up with 52's going straight down to Fence and not even touching Beaver Hill. Also Captain, reckon you could mention something about not showing Ballifield as the destination on the Woodhouse bound ones in snow times? Passengers all think that by saying Ballifield it'll only go a little bit further than Handsworth Top.

I got up to meadowhead at 20 to 12 yesterday morning and the jacknifed lorry had gone and traffic was moving. Didn't even have to wait five minutes for a 75. Are the 75's running down onto dyche lane today captain as got to catch one to work this afternoon.

I was just going to say that is if you can get through to them, funnily enough when I tried ringing traveline yesterday all I kept getting is you are 19th in the queue, too.
