The Streetlites already work interchangably with the B9s and E400s on routes such as 51 and 52a. It should be an adequate replacement. The Streetlites perform better on hills than the E400s too. The only B9 being replaced anyway is YNO7MLE which has suffered engine failure. I think adequete is a bit of strong word, it's undoubtedly a capacity decrease if Streetlites step in to gradually replace B9s over the next few years. But then I find FSY's disregard for allocations barring the 120 and X routes baffling The 120 really needs the double decker capacity, it gets busy all along the route and especially on the city-Birley Spa Lane stretch - I wouldn't be surprised if that was the most profitable route in Sheffield. The Xs vary. The Doncaster ones need a double deck for the Peaks but Off -Peak, a single deck would suffice.

AFAIK the Streetdecks are replacements for the Enviro 400s. I suspect the 6946x's will be transferred to Doncaster, with 695xx's coming to OG from Rochdale. Also believe that approx. 20 Streetlites (eclipse branded ones) are due to move up to OG from Portsmouth, Fareham & Gosport in return for the electric Kite's currently being stored. Rochdale's Eclipses coming in to displace the old Leicester Eclipses makes a lot of sense, big fan of the ex-Bristol Airport ones in particular, but what's the thinking behind the Portsmouth Streetlites? I don't think that'll go down very well if they're coming to help replace B9s and E400s The Portsmouth Streetlites are likely to displace the older Daimler engines Streetlites which suffer from endless problems. The Streetlites are nothing to do with B9/E400 replacement, that’s the job of the Streetdecks.

They work interchangeably because that’s all there is. It could be Solos or Enviro 500s - they’d still work interchangeably. There’s a shortage of double deckers, so they’re spread across routes and the left over allocations are allocated what is left.

63107/8 are Cummins, I believe. The SM14 ones are Cummins. The SL16 ones are Daimler, including my favourite, 63384. The 2018 government funded ones are also Daimler, running at 230hp.

There are a number of OG vehicles to move to Doncaster: off the top of my head 36203/4/36246-50/37552/63107/108/69461-64 with possibility some more what moving to OG in exchange particularly double deckers. , Is OG keeping any 362s besides 36243-45 36275
