Every 30 minutes Sheffield to Bramley then hourly to iPort and Airport.
Result a bus every 15 minutes Sheffield to Wickersley/Bramley direct, with X6/X7.
There may be a market here for a direct bus but 4 buses per hour seems a bit overboard! Even at commuter times the X7 is often a solo.

I cannot understand that, If you count the X1/10, surely that corridor is going to be saturated with buses, Sheffield to Wickersley I mean or am I wrong? Now if an operator ran a service even hourly from Maltby to Rotherham via the hospital to replace the service 10, that maybe a different story

Once the X6/X7 combine - hopefully evenly spread - these routes will be how people travel between Sheffield and Wickersley, there'll simply be no market for the X1, which will take double the time of the X6/X7. Effectively the X1/X10 will be well used to Meadowhall and then who knows what will happen between Meadowhall and Sheffield. The point you make about the Hospital is a relevant one, the changes on this corridor are not as joined up as they could be. So much for a bus partnership in Rotherham! |

The low usage of the X7 has been due mainly to it being a peak hours only service. Not everyone works 9-5. Without any inter availability of tickets I cant see the X6 doing much. The present incarnation seems to average about 3-4 people, with very random trips carrying as much as 10. I can understand Stagecoach having a pop as First have left the door wide open with totally unreliable service and the bizarre diversion into Meadowhall for the X1 that serves no real purpose other than to decimate the previously good X78. It does seem though that Stagecoach are prepared to play the long game with the 737 / X6 / whatever it is this week. |

What IS needed is a decent Maltby to Rotherham service. Yes. We dont have one. The X1 is random and gets stuck in traffic frequently. The default remedy seems to be to miss out the Maltby end to get back on time. It was suggested at Powells about a year ago that an X4 was possible, running through Thrybergh, Ravenfield and Hellaby to Maltby. That would have cleaned up. Unfortunately it didnt happen. |

There is a major belief that ALL buses MUST go to Meadowhall. It is not the major people magnet that people think, Most Rotherham people would much sooner go to Rotherham. The delays and inconvenience to non meadowhall passengers makes no sense when an alternative could be made, offering a much more reliable and as a result sustainable service. The 1 & 2 were ultra reliable when they terminated at Rotherham but then came "progress" and it went to pot. |

In my opinion the Maltby services that I can remember were the best when the 1 and 2 did the circle (1 went up Addison Road and 2 went straight on) then the 10 went straight up to Quilter Road although there was nothing down Braithwell Road back then? I have been catching the bus everyday last week and with the Maltby services now the only benefit I can see is there are more buses through to Doncaster than just the 18s which I sometimes use. I can't really think of a word that I'd be allowed to use to describe the X1 on the whole.
