What a treat I have for you all! Here are Mainline Alexander PSs featuring on Look North, with exclusive interviews from Greenland Road management. The story features the radio systems and additional standing room as well as the new timetable with later buses in the night time. Very nostalgic.

I bet the radio caused arguments back then, with some wanting it on and some wanting it off. Also a lot of luggage space for a fleet never intended to operate to an airport (Don't think Sheffield Airport was even built then).

Does anyone know if the Silver Service B10s (Mainline, not Barbie) were also trialled on the 51, circa 1997/1998? I have a vague memory of seeing one at Lodge Moor terminus around that time.
