153352 was on the 12.34pm arrival into Swinton from Leeds. Very full too. 1st time I've actually been on a Class 153 and I have to say I was pretty impressed with the refurbishment. However, the performance was questionable - seemed to have less guts than the usual Class 144 Pacers on the route.

I believe the Pacers have a greater power to weight ratio than the Sprinters which is probably why they do so well on one engine.

There was a First Capital Connect sort of train parked up in the sidings near Platform 8 at Doncaster. Looking a little lost. Presume it's something to do with Wabtec.

Was treated to 158851 on the Rotherham > Leeds service (8.29am from RCL). Made a nice refreshing change from the usual 3 car 144 Pacers on this route.

[EWS]
On Wednesday afternoon there was a class 66 loco shunting steel waggons around the Tinsley sidings, usually this is done by a class 08 shunter. I presume the shunter for what ever reason wasn't avaliable and the loco that had come for them had to be used.

Spotted 158888 passing over Norfolk Bridge earlier this afternoon in Attercliffe @ 3.36pm. Assume it was on the Sheffield to Leeds semi-fast service...
Also earlier this lunchtime, there were 2 coupled Class 153s on the Leeds to Sheffield via Rotherham local stopper and these were 153316 and 153330. 1st time I've ever seen a coupled 153 before. Spotted in Swinton @ 12.34pm.
