Hi all, I know many of you are more concerned with the larger corporate groups, but if anyone is interested I've recently started putting together a collection of photos of some of the local independent operators: madrushsphotos.fotopic.net/It's humble at the moment, and I don't have the best digi-camera, but it's a start. Thanks for the compliments guys. I've added quite a lot over the past week and split the collection alphabetically.
I still haven't got round all the depots and if anybody has any suggestions for companies they'd like to see please let me know.

Who are DBC, Doncaster?

DBC are run by David Connor. Their depot was previously in Doncaster (Carcroft, I believe) but they changed it recently and now keep the coaches in Expressway's yard at Wath. Also there are Heatons, which is run by Angela and Mark Hancock, (Mark used to own Woodside and drove for the original Heatons in Sheffield prior to them being bought by Central Travel). Hope that helps

Maxfields have B530BML, a Volvo B10M-61 with Plaxton Paramount bodywork which had First Corporate Coach seating. I thought First didn't sell on their vehicles, or is it only Coaches that are sold on?.
I was wondering if First did coach Services would a local competitor be able to buy First's Coaches?

Was B530BML ever a First vehicle? It was new to Frames Rickards of London in 1985, long before First came into being, (as First Bus) in 1995. It is possible that the coach came into the ownership of First from one of it's constituent parts, but would they go to the trouble (and expense) of reseating or recovering the seats on such an old coach?
I can't find any record of this coach between this inital ownership and a recent photo of it with Maxfield.

Yesterday at 11:34, outside the Sign and Print Shop on Langsett Road was Cream Coach TIL5642, which was having Maymist Coaches of Barking in Green. I believe this was ex Diamond Travel.

A number of responses here to your points: 1) swfcforever/madannie77 - Maxfield's B530BML has never been owned by First. It was purchased from Frames-Rickards by Lloyd, Bagillt in 1992. It passed to Maxfields in 2000. 2) captainsharpe1 - the First Tigers you spoke of were B103/5/6JAB bought by Steve Keats. 103 is now HIG5603, 105 was stripped for spares (I believe) and 106 passed to Keats' neighbours Lewis (SY Tours): madrushsphotos.fotopic.net/p61009818.html3) swfcforever - TIL5642 is ex Diamond. Got a shot of it having its names removed.: madrushsphotos.fotopic.net/p61332151.html4) swfcforever again - thanks very much. I will try to get to Ashley Travel for you. I hadn't included them as they are over the Derbyshire border but I'll squeeze them in for you :-)
