The Sheffield Network Map is the next and this is going to be one very large map. Following on from the same guidelines as above, with all/most services with a frequency of every 30 minutes or better on Monday to Fridays been shown. So far, new routes that I've added to the East End of Sheffield are the 6 (City to Littledale) and the 7 (Shirecliffe to Darnall). I doubt I'll be able to squeeze the 1/2 (Gleadless to Hillsborough) routes onto the map, but I'll try my best.
All maps should be fully converted to PDF files by February 1st 2010. Also will need to re-edit the Rotherham Network Map before this date, to include the 66A route.
Thanks, Staff at South Yorkshire Transport

The Doncaster map looks great. It's a lot more clearer now and also has many new routes added from what I can see. Much better now that it is PDF format, as you can now play around with it, along with zooming in or out, depending on your eye sight etc.

Sheffield Network Map is coming on nicely, however I don't think I will have time to get it finished by Monday sadly. Currently all the east end of Sheffield is done, from Rotherham down to Charnock. Just started on the 47/48 corridor in South Sheffield and once I've got all the main routes added, I'll have a go at squeezing in routes like the 1/2 and the 33 for instance. Surprisingly the 123 in South East Sheffield has fit in rather well.

Sorry about the delay to the Sheffield Network Map. The High Green area has posed a problem, trying to fit it into the existing map, which is now 80.00in by 60.00in, so as you can imagine, quite large compared to the Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham maps.
Majority of the map is now complete, the biggest problem has been sourcing all the line colours for the routes to better differentiate between the routes. It should be uploaded and complete by later this evening / tomorrow afternoon. Just got to add all the detail around the Parson Cross / High Green / Shiregreen area and draw the lines up to and around the Rotherham area, for routes 5, 21, 32, 66, 69 and X78.
I'm also aiming to get the Barnsley map updated, to add the 96/96A and also the Rotherham map, to split the 3/4 from the 10/10A to make the Sunnyside area less confusing to look at.
Any other comments will be welcome as always.
Ta, Sam

The Rotherham map looks much better now. Agree with the splitting of the 19/19A and 19B, given the route differention around Listerdale, with the 19/19A using Broom Road and Wickersley Road and the 19B using East Bawtry Road and Moorgate Road. Not to mention the differention in routes around Laughton Common and Thurcroft.
Looks very professional. Shame the PTE can't manage to produce even something half that good, that could be placed at main bus stops and interchange points! A little like what was done with the First Overground network a few years back.
After a closer observation, I can't spot anything wrong with the Rotherham or Sheffield maps. Don't know the Barnsley/Doncaster areas well enough to comment on their maps.

Thanks for the comments / feedback regarding both the Sheffield and Rotherham network maps.
3jm, I'll get those changed and updated within 24 hours. I do not know that end of Sheffield well, so was relying on what Google Maps had said the areas were for each bus stop within the area.
19bfrequenter, I felt it was best to split the 19 & 19A from the 19B, due to the different routes as you also mention. I was also planning on doing this for the 34/35 in Whiston, but decided against this.

Sheffield map looks ok around S.E. Sheffield. Not noticed any mistakes. Is it not possible to add the 25/25A loop on the Woodhouse end around the Skelton/Waterslacks estate, Sam?
Nice to see some different colours for the routes too. I also notice from looking at the Rotherham and Sheffield maps that the routes that cross over into the other boroughs are the same colours throughout. The 32 been Claret for example. This makes it much more easier to identify IMO and more consistent throughout.

30563, I did originally intend to put a loop section on the centre of Woodhouse around Cross Street / Tannery Street, but space limitations on the map permitted this sadly, due to the introduction of the 123 route, which, is a little complicated in South East Sheffield.
All colours are the same on the maps if they run into other districts, apart from the 21 in Rotherham (Lime) and Sheffield (Light Turquoise). This will be changed at the next update, which all been well (if the servers are still not playing up) should be by 6pm this evening.

Just had a closer look at the Rotherham map and I must say I'm pretty impressed with it. It is a far better map than what the PTE has to offer, as demonstrated here: www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/NR/rdonlyres/4E0BA3B5-229F-41A5-A83E-3A66903ADD89/0/rotherham_interchnage_snm_january_2010.pdfPerhaps they should just point people to the 4 above maps instead, which are far more accurate and contain a lot more detail. Take the PTE map for instance, according to that, only the FreeBee serves Parkgate Shopping, when this isn't the case. What about the 43A, 108, 109, 218, 220, 221, 229 and 396 for instance? Keep up the good work.

On the subject of the Sheffield Map, would it be possible to add the TM Travel 293 route between Bradway and Sheffield to the map at all? Also, would it be possible to split the 11/12 routes, to better show the differentiation in both routes around Stannington and the fact that they terminate in different parts of Stannington?

I'll have a look into adding the 293 to the map at the next update. As for the 11/12, I feel these are better kept as they are now, mainly because they serve the same major corridor, apart from a few different main roads. If I were to split these, I would then as well split the 41/42, 47/48, 75/76 and 97/98 routes for instance. Problem with the Sheffield Network Map now is, I've run out of colours. Ta, Sam
