It's becoming increasingly irritating to read through screen after screen of text which has just been dumped from some web-page.
I can understand things which are not accessible online being copied but not the contents of available webpages. More irritating is when the information therein is several years old!
It would be appreciated, at least here, if the staff might consider taking action against the usual perpetrators?
The copied articles can easily be redirected to /dev/null.

I quite agree, it has become very annoying and has been a problem for some time but it hasn't been acted upon. There are a number of other members who feel the same, I must admit to copying and pasting on rare occasions (The new Dennis Dart SLFs for Chesterfield ) but I only do this if it's relevant and adds something to the forum. The usual "We hate FSY buses because they are s**t" articles add little because we already know that.....

There seem to be a number of "sheep" members who do very little other than recycle C&P material and trot out the same tired opinions over and over again. Luckily there are still enough members who genuinely have something to contribute that it's worth wading through the rubbish for now.

It was suggested some time ago that we could possibly move onto V bulletin (I believe) that has filters to alllow users to select various subjects an / or posters to ignore and they would then only see information that is relevant or of interest to them. I for one would urge the owners of this board to look at moving to that type of system at the earliest possible time. To not do so would be to risk losing several members who are fed up with trawling through what they determine to be drivel.

We have sorted out this problem slightly before, which seems to have vastly reduced the number of "Cut & Paste" jobs compared to last year (2008), however there does still seem to be an element of this around.
Now, whilst we do not have a problem with a selection of "Cut & Paste" jobs, that are both relevant and add discussion / evidence to a topic in hand, those that are just "cut and paste" jobs, with no real relevance to the forum, then we do have a problem with.
The problem is been sorted out as we speak. We understand that we will never please all members on the forum, but we do try to please the majority, rather than the minority.
I'm going to close this thread now and can I ask that all questions and views regarding this subject, be posted via PM to the Staff Team please. It's easier for you to just click the "Report This Post to Staff" breadcrumb for this message, as this then sends the PM message directly to all 4 staff members and then we can investigate it.
Thanks, Staff at South Yorkshire Transport.
