Was it just me who could not access the forum at around 4pm today, or where any other members also affected? Kept showing the following error:
Network Error (tcp_error)
A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out" The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

All ProBoards were down by the looks of it - been off for most of the afternoon for me! Obviously it's back on now...

Tried the former sister forums at the same time however (even though I'm not a registered member on them) and both the East Midlands and West Yorkshire sites were online at around 4.10pm this afternoon. Tried to access the forum at work and it wasn't having any of it, but when I got home and tried it, it full works - isn't even any lagging in the speed.

It wasn't working for me earlier, but it kept coming up with the following message for me: 'The connection has timed out.'
Looks as though everything is now back to normal however.

ProBoards (the people who run the forum software & hosting), came under a DDOS attack earlier this afternoon, which as a result overloaded the servers and caused the forum to become non-responsive. The location of the DDOS attack was identified as somewhere within the UK, this is why all UK access points through to ProBoards were suspended for around 3-4 hours this afternoon. I can't speak for Yahoo.

Just to update on my above message, this now seems to be mainly just restricted to affecting the people who use the following ISPs to access the forum:
Be Unlimited; O2; Sky.

Just to update Sam on this. I have contacted my provider (Virgin) and was affecting various site yesterday afternoon. This i am guessing was the DDOS attack you reported above. Everything now seem to be back to normally.

No problems this end from me. Going on the above, perhaps its because I have to use T-Mobile internet, as I don't have a landline. Had no problems in accessing the forum yesterday or in doing so today either.

The problem hasn't been affecting mobile internet browsers. The only ISP that are still having problems in accessing the forum is now Sky. Sky are now dealing with this, though they don't have an ETA for the completion of this at the moment.
