Reports of chaos on Angel St with Tram replacement buses blocking road. Was same at hillsborough this afternoon blocking forbes road so no 52s could get into interchange. How ironic, its normally the swarms of 52 leaving the Interchange causing the traffic gridlock that delays trams!

Update on rail replacement project work.... Easter weekend sees work move from area 1 to area 2, the following service is planned:
Good Friday & Easter Saturday - Saturday timetable with the following modifications: Tram replacement bus B1 will terminate at Hillsborough as Holme Lane is closed. Supertramlink bus SL2 will extend from Malin Bridge to Hillsborough to connect during the daytime.
Easter Sunday - Sunday timetable with the following modifications: The Yellow route tram service to Middlewood will resume. Holme lane remains closed so no service to Malin Bridge. Blue route trams will run to Middlewood.
Bank Holiday Monday - Sunday timetable with the following modifications: Rail replacement work moves to area 2 - trams will resume to Malin Bridge, however at the other end of the Blue route buses (service B2) will replace trams between Gleadless Townend and Halfway. Blue route trams will be diverted to run to Herdings Park instead of Halfway.
After Easter... rail replacement area 2:
Yellow route - will run normally Middlewood-Meadowhall Blue route - will run Malin Bridge to Herdings Park, every 10 mins Mon-Sat daytime and every 20 mins evenings and Sundays. Purple route - will not run Mon-Sat daytime as Blue route will be serving Herdings Park. Evenings and Sundays Purple trams will run Herdings Park to Cathedral every 20 minutes, co-ordinated with the blue route to provide a tram Herdings-City every 10 minutes. Tram replacement bus B2 - will run Gleadless Townend-Halfway, generally at the same frequency trams would normally operate.

work on area 2 is now complete and following safety checks and testing over the weekend, the line to Halfway will open again on bank holiday Monday.
Area 3 works start on Tuesday 27th May which involves track renewal on the viaduct over Sheffield Parkway along with some work on the road crossing at Woodbourn Road.
Trams will operate Meadowhall-Attercliffe (Arena at the weekends) and replacement buses will run Meadowhall-Castle Square. A separate shuttle bus will run Mon-Sat daytime Castle Square-Nunnery Square car park.
As trams will not be able to get between the depot and City Centre during the 5 weeks of work (except for one weekend) temporary depots will be established around the network at night to stable trams. Because of the limited capacity of this arrangement less trams will be available for service and as a result daytime frequency to Middlewood, Malin Bridge and Halfway will be reduced to every 12 minutes and the Purple route will not operate. A replacement bus will run between Gleadless Townend and Herdings Park every 24 minutes connecting with trams.

I would assume 4 at Meadowhall, 4 (or however many you can fit in University tunnel), 3 at Middlewood and a load at Halfway at a non educated guess!

Dumb question, but presumably the tram "feeder" services are amended to every twelve minutes to connect at Middlewood/ Malin Bridge/ Crystal Peaks?
I know that there's something in the timetable registration to allow the Stocksbridge and Stannington services to run through to Hillsborough Interchange when there's disruption to the trams, but didn't know if the registrations are flexible enough to amend the frequency of the bus services to match amended tram frequencies.

Also don't suppose anyone has noticed where they're being stabled overnight apart from Commercial Street bridge?

Does it actually matter, as quite often they must miss the trams on a normal day, so passengers probably wouldn't notice the differential in frequencies.
