If it is not too much trouble, could someone please provide me with a list of flights that are scheduled to arrive and depart from DSA during the week. Just need the amount of flights that arrive/depart the airport, rather than the operator/carriers and the intended destinations.
If this could then be split into Monday - Sunday day categories, I'd really appreciate it.

Have a look at DSAF's dedicated site....www.dsaf.co.uk, Basically, at this time of the year, there are only 5 or 6 coming in and a similar number flying out.

Been looking at the BBC's Ceefax for a little while, page 404, clicking onto "Yorks & Lincs", then DSA will list "Flight Arrivals". Today (updated at 0628) the first arrival is W6185, Wroclaw due at 17-25 hrs. Rather than list all arrivals for the day as all others tend to do, DSA doesn't, but usually adds the handful of evening arrivals later on in the day. So today one line for DSA whereas say, EMA & LBA for example, have all their arrivals listed on 3 or 4 pages! Perhaps the people at DSA are too ashamed to list them all at the same time? As I recall, DSA planned to be handling over 2.5 million passengers each year at this time in it's history, but only does around 800 thousand, so I suppose, there is a lot to be ashamed about! Quite pathetic really!!

Hardly worth switching on the lights & opening up for! They must be loosing a fortune. Wonder what the daily Council Tax alone costs?

The accounts made up to 31/3/10 show a loss of nearly £8.5 million

I believe there has been too much political will and reputation invested in the project to see it fail in its entirety. Public money has been supplied ,in abundance, on the promise of jobs and despite an apalling set of trading results still look set to continue with FARRS ( which I acknowledge is not entirely airport related.) What in the short term will count is the depth of DSA's Canadian owners pockets...since no serious opinions I have read can see any short term, substantial improvement in passenger useage or of airlines serving the Airport.. Canadians are 'canny', careful and usually conservative businesspeople and will have carefully studied past results and ,in the arcane world of high finance, will certainly be in it for more than the odd $ .

DSA certainly needs a big boost but Humbersides been like DSA is now for years and can sustain it being open. Think alot of the problem is the fares/package holidays are alot more expensive than Manchester, east midlands etc.

The whole premise of opening the airport was, firstly, a jobs creation package, enabling national and European funding to be applied to what was an aviation opportunity. However, by their own admission, there was no pressing demand for. such a facility. The lo-co market was booming and Peel expected that DSA would share in the boom. This was not the case and given its performance must be considered, at best, a disappointment and at worse...ill advised.
My earlier remarks about the 'depth of pockets' still applies!

Humberside is much smaller, and is far more profitable than Doncaster due to the aviation operations other than airline passenger business, but also including KLM and Eastern Airways regular flights. In the crudest sense Doncaster/Vantage are paying £10 for every passenger that uses the airport. How do they claw that back? Simple, they build a link road therefore increasing the value of the land surrounding the site. Aviation business will always play second fiddle to an airport who's catchment area is relatively thin when compared to most of its competitors.

The 364 hectares of land at RAF Finningley was sold by the MoD for £11million. The value of the cost of development is stated to have been £81 million...of which a substantial amount was met from Public funding. Apart from the airport and business parks, planning consent has also been granted for 870 houses on the 18.6 hectares of land identified as suitable for housing.
Aviation related businesses have been established as planned but the airport business itself is very much down on forecasts. I wonder, just how many jobs have been created on the site and how many are in the pipeline?
