Well no-one commented on your May stats. posting so I thought that I should come to your rescue so that you don't develop a phobia! Down 23% in May & now 20% in June it's all becoming too predictable. Closure looms?

Thanks, Elvis....Just to add to the 'excitement' I see on another forum that newly opened Southend has a monthly total of 77,580....up 1,441.1% on previous month...thanks to Mr Stobart who seems to have found a winner and they obviously seem to know what they are doing...moving things not developing property, perhaps.

A total strategy rethink is needed at DSA. If you're a business traveller, you can't actually fly anywhere from the airport. If they could get a link to one of the main European hub airports (Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, even Istanbul), it might have a future. But if not, new passengers won't come and you have to question how long the remaining airlines will stay. It's shameful they haven't got a link to Amsterdam, something that Humberside, Norwich, Durham Tees Valley and Inverness can seem to manage.

And so did Sheffield! The route was the most successful new-start in KLM's history and was only closed ....temporarily...following a reorganisation within KLM. Unfortunately, by the time KLM were in a position to re-start the decision had been made to close the 4 year old airport!
I know I am repeating what I have said over the years ,but the majority of 'experts' who appeared at the Planning Enquiry, believed that DSA would have problems 'pinching' trade and developing their own. Using the financial test for viability of Sheffield the same owners should have closed Doncaster years ago!
