Garage and land probably worth more than the opco. From a proud organisation to destruction in twenty years, First should be ashamed of themselves.

No need, just hide it away somewhere where there is next to nothing to compare it against.

Of course it could be heading for school duties, plenty of life in the old dog.

Rumour doing the rounds that First has sold its London operation to a combine of Metroline and Abelio. I'm not one for rumours (says he, as he reposts it on an enthusiasts forum!), but if there is any shred of truth in it, it would be possible for them to make the purchase and not foul the 25% rule for TfL operations. Any insider got anything to add?

The end of Trident cascades would probably help the operation.......without doing anything else!
Best just to wait and see. If they want to meet the £80million target by close of play this week, it'll be announced before Friday.

Firstgroup have sold up in London. Five garages to Metroline and three to an Australian outfit, I've never heard of. £80 million in total. That should help the balance sheet a little.

Not quite, there is still Dagenham, but think that'll be dispersed on a route by route basis, seeing as the PVR is soon to drop by around 80% due to tender losses.

Yep its true from route one magazine.
First sells London for £80m
Metroline and Australian group buy eight depots
First has completed its disposal programme with the sale of its eight remaining London depots for £80m.
In a statement to the Stock Exchange this morning First says: “In line with our strategy to pursue selected business and asset disposals, today we are pleased to announce the sale of five of our London depots to Metroline, an existing London bus operator, and three of our London depots to Transit Systems Group, an Australian transport company, for a combined consideration of approximately £80m.
“Both disposals are subject to the necessary regulatory approvals including contractual obligations with Transport for London

I must confess to seeing a bit of deja vu in this one. (thinks, wonder when the buy back is set for)
