The new date - and venue - for Showbus 2013 is confirmed as Sunday Sept 22nd. This is the week AFTER the Aldwalke South Yorkshire Rally (15th )!!
More details here .... According to the Showbus site the following has been announced... Our new venue is in Shakespeare's countryside at Long Marston Airfield, just south of Stratford-upon-Avon, home to a variety of well known motoring shows and displays including the national Hot Rod drag racing championship. The new venue is - at the moment - just for 2013 and Showbus will be back at Duxford in 2014 for the 60th anniversary of the Routemaster. We are hopeful that the new central venue will give the opportunity for people who have found it difficult to get to Duxford to come and see and to join in and enjoy the spectacle of the biggest bus event in the country, if not the world. Whilst the venue does not have the attendant attractions of Europe's premier air museum it does enable us to offer attractions that the Museum does not permit. •admission will be no more than £12 •a wider range of stalls and refreshments will be permitted than at Duxford •coach operators will be able to combine a visit to Showbus with Warwick Castle and Stratford day trips •entrants will be able to camp overnight on site •dogs will be allowed on site •there will be a mini-SHOWBUS the weekend before at the as a curtain raiser to the main event at the National Hot Rod championships. Showbus is an event that has, and always will be, run for enthusiasts by enthusiasts. We aim to stage an event that is unrivalled and hope that the new venue will offer our visitors better value for money as well as a new range of displays and attractions. We always like to hear from visitors to Showbus, and entrants too, and we would welcome suggestions as to what attractions you would like to see at the 2013 event which might now be possible

Sounds like it might just be worth going then and you won't be charged an arm and a leg admission fee. Year after back at Duxford and commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Rotmaster... no.

It says a more central location as a bonus, yes if you live in Wales, its no difference to duxford, I will be going but I'm sceptical of it being as good location as duxford,

A much more central location. Duxford is a bit out on a limb for many. I may even consider going myself now since its not at the rip off site.
I would suggest the reason they are hoping for a better turn out of stalls is the reduced rates being quoted and nothing to do with Duxford.
They certainly need to up their game as the Newbury show is a very realistic competitor now.
