More...They may be committed, but with financial difficulties afoot, it does make you wonder whether they will be able to finish the project, or have a barely-occupied, stripped-back hulk of a building towering over the city centre for years to come? The work desperatley needed to be done, don't get me wrong, but at the time I did have my misgivings about the council awarding the project to a seemingly fly-by-night company that seemed to be a lot of style, with little substance.. saying that it's exactly the kind of thing our local government has fallen for time and time again..

One often wonders why our local government always seem to be led a dance by businesses...Could it just be that too many senior executives have only a very limited experience of the real "hurly burley" of business life and are naive or could it be they are easily impressed? Whatever, the short answer would have been to have demolished the monstrous Stalinist -style flats in the first place.
Isn't it also strange that they can give permission to demolish another , arguably much more attractive. listed building in the shape of Jessop's hospital yet refused to do the same with Park Hill.....Different agenda no doubt!
