Given the recent activities regarding heritage liveries, I thought it would be relevant to compare some with the originals to see how good or otherwise they are / were. Starting with the East Midland dart of Stagecoach.

I think they're all pretty good apart from the East Midland Darts and the Thamesdown tram but both the FSY Gemenis are superb, can't really pick one over the other.

To be honest, I think the Crimson and Ivory East Midland dart is good, the Sand and Brown one is terrible, (it should be sand not hi viz orange), The Mexborough and Swinton was an example of a short lived livery that was not well remembered so fails a bit for that. The less said about the Thamesdown tram the better. (strange it was not seen on the gemini's launch day - hiding in shame?), The gemini's are both very good and display the attention to detail that has gone in to them. For me it is a tough choice between the geminis and the Crimson and Ivory East Midland dart. But what about the next ones? How will they compare? We will have to wait and see..............

We will have to wait and see.............. 120 was out and about that day, after photographing them at OG with busman3, turned around facing towards town and it went across the Viaduct at the end of Park Grange. Felt a very classic moment, gorgeous old livery Geminis and the tram (from a distance, kind of convincing then) Regarding that livery though on 120, I slated about it when I was an apprentice at Supertram. Having been involved with Crich for many years, working on 510 many times it's an embarrassment! Back when 120 was done, the painting of the trams wasn't done in house and the external guys made a great muck of of it (they were a pair of New Zeland-ers, with no time to correct before that was supposed to be 'launched'. Well, that's how the story goes that they told me...

A pretty conclusive result then with 229 winning by a good margin.
