Have heard that a major upgrade will soon be taking place along with Yellow line between Cathedral and Meadowhall which will include new shelters, lighting and departure information displays now the trams have real time tracking information available.

Best thing they could do there is dismantle Ponds Forge and Castle Square, and put up one new stop in between - outside Primark. I don't to this day know why there had to be three stops so close to one another. Just slows things down unnecessarily.

Believe it or not, the idea is to pick up people at the stops! It may slow things down....imagine no stops in between terminii...how fast could that be...but how little revenue would they collect. One complaint about the system is that in places there aren't enough stops!

Merging these 2 stops together may be a good idea, as often at peak hours you have trams stacking up at Ponds Forge inbound as the one in front hasn't cleared Castle Square.

One complaint about the system is that in places there aren't enough stops! My comment was about one specific location; not about the proximity of stops elsewhere. Believe it or not, two stops rather than the three there are, just here, would serve the area just as well. Better, probably, because quicker. With no material difference in the walking distances for the majority of users.

Totally irrevelent as there isn`t room outside Primark , the reason there are 3 city stops is to ease conjestion and over-crowding .

Could this have something to do with the potential Tram-Train?

They're doing seating at the tram stops on all lines at the moment. There was a link on the supertram twitter for the schedule for it but it seems to have disappeared

I noticed a couple of what appear to be cameras and a couple of!"black boxes" have been installed at Gleadless Townend. The former look to be temporary with their plastic ties. Any ideas what they are for?
