From the BBC www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-22506806"A fire at a bus depot in Cornwall has destroyed at least 37 buses - a third of bus firm Western Greyhound's fleet. The fire in Summercourt, near Newquay, broke out at about 01:00 BST. The blaze is expected to cause widespread disruption to bus services in mid-Cornwall, including some school buses. Its cause, which is not yet known, is being jointly investigated by Devon and Cornwall Police and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service. The police said the A3058 Newquay to St Austell Road would remain closed for most of the day. Western Greyhound has been operating buses in Cornwall and Devon since 1998. It describes itself as a "locally-based, family-run business."

This is a serious blow to the company, they have quite a high proportion of non DDA vehicles,if they are replaced with modern stock I imagine the insurers will require a significant contribution for "betterment". The other option is to replace with more old stock of mixed background, not very appealing

Really bad news to read about, hopefully the company will recover from what has happened. Sad to hear the loss of the ex Leon Trident's, a piece of South Yorkshire history has gone as well.

I'm surprised these things don't happen more if you look at how Doncaster depot buses are packed in and the close proximity to Leger Way. There are a lot of arson incidents across the town at the moment including the setting fire of fences on the racecourse and many incidents of bin fires in Intake it wouldn't take much to throw something over the fence from Leger Way lucky for Doncaster is that they are next to the fire station.

Being next to the fire station means nothing. Doncaster was (not sure if it still is) the busiest station in South Yorkshire so there may not always be a pump on site or in the immediate area.
