Just been wondering what the most reliable bus has been in South Yorkshire since early 80's? Has there ever been a bus that has never broken down/failed? Obviously looking at buses that have been in the South Yorkshire area a long time? My grandad was once talking to a bus driver of an Dennis dominator and the driver claimed it had never broken down! This was about a year before they were withdrawn!!! Not sure if the driver was kidding but thought I'd ask the question to people in the know!! Sorry if this is in wrong section, please feel free to move it!

as an outsider to the industry i'd guess the B10m must be close to the top

I don't ever seem to remember any MCW Metrobus with the hazard lights on? I use to on be them a lot a kid between Dinnington and Sheffield!!
I was also wondering if there was a specific single bus that never let anyone down?

I was also wondering if there was a specific single bus that never let anyone down? It is reputed that when Leadmill Rd depot was fully MCW they lost the least mileage out of the entire company. Broke down numerous times in MCW Fastlines-1943 split a fuel line at Maltby nearly catching fire, tow-in. And 1949 lost all its coolant on M18 going to Doncaster so limped it to Leger Way and got 2487 for my troubles-what a shed.

What about the 06 reg gemini's(ex Leeds)?. In the time they've been here can't recall many failing.

Can we turn it round as well and find out what is the single most unreliable bus?

My guess is that its either a trident,euro 2 B7TL or a hybrid E400.

Can we turn it round as well and find out what is the single most unreliable bus? I would think of any B6LE/B6BLE Crusader, particularly the T-JDT batch, the 02 plates at DO seem at bit better. Along with the Optare Solo's at DO and Holbrook's 61 plate E400H's.

I recall being on 40494 on a service 20 from southey to town not long before the B6's left OG and it barely got above 20mph on the entire journey.
