Well, for some of the people on this forum who think I'm still a teen who sits around doing bugger all, here is a rather special project for me... This is a work in progress that will, next week, be on it's way to Denmark - to Heljan. It will be used as a weathering template for a well known UK Retailer of Heljan loco's, for a new Heavily Weathered Limited Edition. It is depicted as several months before withdrawal and export - it is based on Class 47 style bogies with a rather 'careworn' exterior. The pictures before the roof weathering have been done show how the colour actually appears - unfortunately the photos of the completed model show it to be much darker (this is due to the rather large rain cloud overhead making the garden very shadowed for photo's!) More photo's will be added if sunlight appears before the loco goes on it's holiday back to the manufacturers! Some of you may not be interested because it isn't a bus, but I'm pretty excited about this project, so I decided to share There's a fair few pictures, so I added them on here smaller. Click on one to take you to the larger ones on Flickr. Here we are, pre roof weathering. Washes had been applied to get into all of the crevices and enhance the look of the finished model: Kestrel - a work in progress... A superb piece of work Tofski - I too remember seeing this beast in the flesh and it was still pretty much ex works as well. After the fitting of its Class 47 bogies it was allowed back onto the ECML between Sheff Vic and Kings Cross for a spell, before going back to Shirebrook and taking Coal down to March.
