Hi all, this if my first ever attempt at doing anything like this so I just have a couple of questions for now. ( I'm sure many will follow) Having been collecting models for a while now I have decided to have a go at making my own, well sort of, I have taken a Corgi model Sheffield bus and removed the top deck and cut away the stairs at the rear with the intention on turning it into a tow bus loosely based on one of the SYPTE tow buses, some of which were at Midland Road for the open day, I now have the shell stripped down to the bare metal ready for rebuilding, what I would be greatful for now are suggestions on what type of putty/filler I can use for the filling in parts, something that will set solid and can be filed down and painted, a friend suggested car filler, would this be any good? Also does anybody have any good photos of the rear of any of the SYPTE tow buses and lastly decals, where can I get some South Yorkshire Transport decals? oh and also where can I get hold of some South Yorkshire Transport colours paint, the cream and brown? Any help is much appreaciated. Thanks Dave Here is a pic of where I am at: i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll182/bladesman123/model.jpgHere is what the intended finished project is loosely based on: i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll182/bladesman123/DSC_0158.jpgany photos of the rear of this vehicle would be very helpful Thanks again. Edit: Just thought I'd mention I am working in 1:76 scale.

Hi Dave - Good luck with the project , although the main problem is you are using a 27' scale model with 4 bay windows instead of 30' 5 bay as the pic shows. At present the correct base model would be an East Lancs PD2 front entrance Corgi OOC model. Check out my mate Dean Lee's version .... www.flickr.com/photos/34856582@N07/6082723052/ www.flickr.com/photos/34856582@N07/6099781754/ As for the Sypte / Sheff liveries , i always use Halfords Ford Ivory aerosol (over a grey primer), and brushed Humbrol 15 blue or 9 Tan. I can supply all local decals ie fleetnames , destys, adverts ect for Sheff Transport and Sypte , Mainline , First ect. Get in touch or see me at the Sheffield Model Exhibition on Sat June 21st.

Thanks for the responses, Transit I will be in tough soon regarding decals, I know my project isn't accurate in that it's the wrong kind of bus but as it's my first attempt at anything like this I thought I would use something that wouldn't matter too much if I balls it up and ruin it lol.
Thanks again.
Dave.
