Does anyone know what is happening to the proposal to erect a new pedestrian bridge? It all seems to have gone very quiet.

I doubt your trite answer is the correct one, Duncan...Time and a little money is being spent by Northern policing the protest, but I didn't think they were involved in the bridge scheme...This I understood was being planned and largely financed by the DfT, EMT and Network Rail .....as well as some input from SCC. It wasn't Northern who were especially complaining about fare dodging, so much as EMT.
The last news I saw was back in April 2013 when the Star reported that after one meeting between the parties no new one had been arranged.

Having a sense of humour can be such a trial. I am so envious of those more fortunate than myself who are not cursed with this affliction. You are so fortunate.

Thankfully, I am not in a "state of pain, distress or grief."
