I've been looking at old pictures of Doncaster Mainline on Flickr (oh the memories lol), and I would be so interested to know more about some of the older routes of the 90s. I am particularly interested to know what the specific routes (literally each street on the route lol) and terminus points were to old services. The ones I'd be keen to know about are services to Wheatley, Wheatley Hills and Clay Lane, Balby and Edlington, and areas such as Edenthorpe, Barnby Dun, Dunscroft, Dunsville etc.
Some of the old routes numbers and destinations I came across on Flickr pictures include:
72 Edenthorpe 77 Clay Lane 156 Balby 157 Alverly Lane 177 ?? (I heard it was Clay Lane via the Hospital and Silver Jubilee Close but not sure) 182 ?? 183 ?? 184 Hatfield (I think) 185 Barnby Dun 454, 455 & 456 Edlington
I would love to know more on these services and their routes under Mainline if anyone can help. For example, in Clay Lane Estate today, buses only use Jefferson Avenue and Livingstone Avenue, but I think I recall a Mainline service using Wilberforce Road and Clay Lane in the 90s. 77 maybe? Also any others would be greatfully appreciated.

I know of a few more that I've seen on Flickr. 160 Owston park, 164 Arksey and 277 /278 Doncaster-Sheffield. If I recall on the 277/278 one of them went through Conisbrough and the other carried on the A630.

M72 and M77 - M72 went down Wheatley Hall Road and up Crompton Road before they dualled it and this wasn't possible, it survived for a while after the dual but was eventually removed M77 was introduced after a rival company, whose name I forget had introduced a service to Hereford Road/Guildford Road at one time M72 and M77 both ran down Truro Avenue but M77 mainly replace M72 after it could not use Crompton Road. Both M72 and M77 used Eager Beavers/Little Nippers. After M77 was ended it was replaced by 76 and 77 - 76 went to Hereford/Guildford Road and 77 went to Clay Lane, 77 was withdrawn and they became all 76 which went to Clay Lane, then eventually they were split again with 77 going to Wheatley Hills. I seem to recall 177 don't think it lasted long.

I don't think Barnby Dun, Dunscroft was served by Doncaster Mainline until it became Mainline across South Yorkshire in the mid-90s. Balby had 455 & 456 to Edlington (454 came with buying Wilfreda Beehive). They might have been a 162 to Balby as Doncaster Mainline to compete with Wilfreda but can't remember for sure. The 156 was to the Broomhouse Lane estate, which is very close to Alverly Lane, which is why both routes are now combined. The other Doncaster Mainline routes were 55 to Rossington, 165 to Bentley, 175/6 to Intake/Lothian Road and 177/178 to Woodlands.

Well he fails to point out is that the current number system has a system. In Doncaster 10-19 is Balby Road 20-30 Is North Notts & Rotherham 40-49 Scawby & Sprotborough (Old Stagecoach YT Routes) 50-54 York Road 55-59 Bawtry Road 60-79 Areas not covered elsewhere 80-89 Hospital routes Not an exact science of course but that's the general way it is done.
