On a First bus today*, a lady in front of me gave the driver three pieces of fruit (as well as scanning her "freedom" pass) - got me thinking - what's the best freebies/ treats/ bribes you've received on public transport (or seen a member of public transport staff receive)? An elderly relative of mine used to take cups of tea out for drivers at the Garden Village terminus at Stocksbridge in the '80s/90s (back when the 66/ X66 etc terminated there)- can't imagine that kind of thing happens these days though. Can anyone beat three bits of fruit? (* - not naming the service / driver/ board as I don't want to get them into bother for accepting treats or envious looks in the staff canteen! )

I've received a Mars bar and several small sweets before but the best is what I got from the PTE at Castleford which was massive bin bag and box full of bags which had a water bottle and pen inside for my fellow driving staff. I was expecting a small box that I could put in cab but I had to fill up the wheelchair bay with the stash!

A driver yesterday in Whiston got 15 bags of KP Nuts! The woman tried to offer them me at the bus stop as she was meant to give them to her daughter, but instead gave them to the driver.
