No offense intended to anyone here but I'm actually rather surprised that OP didn't use Google Maps - the alignment of the track and where the trackbed used to sit from leaving the mainline to joining the "Tinsley Triangle" on the entrance to Tinsley Yard is still visible - it looks to me that the bridge which the X78 passes underneath closest to Meadowhall is also a remnant from this line too. What is a shame however is that it doesn't look like it'd be viable to walk down - the track which is still in situ on the Tinsley side of Sheffield Road sadly runs alongside factories before reaching Network Rail property - and it looks as if its the same situation with what is left of the trackbed on the other side too sadly. I did use Google Maps, however Google Maps only shows what's currently there (albeit sometimes a few years behind) so I couldn't use Google Maps to see where it used to lead to as it wouldn't show that. And if we're thinking about the same bridge, there's some writing on it that says it's a redundant span, as to whether that's official or not who knows.

Out of interest do you have Google Earth (not Google Maps) installed on your computer?
There used to be something you could download for Google Earth that had quite a lot of the old railway lines plotted in-I know this line was certainly included. I couldn't tell you download link though as it was about 6 or 7 years when I used it. Sure a few searched on Google would uncover it though.
If you have ever been past Smithey Wood Industrial Estate on service66 (on Nether Lane) it passes over an old railway bridge-this was part of that line from Meadowhall.

I've not managed to properly have a look around the area myself, however Google Earth does show the trackbed which remains, and where it disappears off into trees, there is a slight gap which would suit a railway alignment. To me it looks as though it'd join onto the mainline just after the former Brightside station, and before Grimesthorpe Reception & Sidings.
