I've recently started a flickr group: www.flickr.com/groups/2911870@N25/pool/
It is aimed at grouping pictures of old buses from all over the country that were part of a large fleet but were one of a kind, or perhaps two or three. For South Yorkshire PTE I have 511,501-4,322-3,321,521,431 & 501(latter Olympian) covered. For Sheffield Transport era I have 525,RWA222-3 and 1357 (because it had two bodies) covered. Invites have been sent for 9000WB & 951-2 (because of the striking Daimler badges).
Please suggest any others you think are worthy of inclusion. Anywhere in the country not just our area.
Finally, I wouldn't normally consider a Leyland National worthy of inclusion. However, I will be sourcing the one with the words "kneeling national" on it. I would also like to include the batch of a few LN's that were purchased from Nottingham Transport in the early 80's - something SYPTE never normally did. It was because of a little industrial unrest keeping the first bendi-buses off the road I believe. Anyone know the fleet numbers of the said Leyland National's?

369 Alexander Leyland Atlantean 1959 A 45 year mystery bus in my mind may well have been identified. Though only 5 or 6 years old in 1971-2 I can recall a bus that from the front looked like a Weymann bodied Atlantean/Fleetline such as 951-962 but from the back looked more like a Park Royal bodied Fleetline that were numbered in the range 970-990 (I think). Please tell me it did survive into the early 1970's?
In particular. One day I set off walking home from school at Abbey Lane towards home near top of Meadowhead. The bus, most likely 369, was coming down as I walked past the RC church with someone aboard waving frantically at me. It was my mum, but don't recall if she was disturbed or impressed her circa 6yo son had started walking home alone! How times change?

No really an odditie but from what I can remember there was a Marshall Atlantean 1815 (JKW315W), I think. From memory it had only 41 seats upstairs, which Im sure were back to back instead of 45 on the others and had plastic windows. Was this a battle bus?

First 60704 was the only Eclipse to be fitted with a roof air-conditioning vent. I'm not sure if it's still in service, I think it went to Doncaster.

There was one Mainline B10M Alexander PS, I believe it was a J-AWF reg' version, that had a screw loose in the roof cavity and you'd hear it rolling around the whole journey, it must have been annoying for the driver.

First 60724 had an odd roof vent cover at the rear. It was a square shape and more exposed. Does anyone know why this was please? I always wondered about it. I have just seen, when it moved to Midland Road, it got replaced again with a silver box.
