Just in case people are interested, CrossCountry Trains have launched a public consultation for their December 2017 timetable which aims to address some of the overcrowding issues on their services, particularly between Newcastle and Bristol. Aside from the extra Voyager arranged as part of their Direct Award they won't be getting any additional rolling stoke, but using what they have more efficiently, particularly their HSTs. It's 57 pages long but this is most of the stuff that's relevant to South Yorkshire: The full changes can be found here: www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/about-us/future-timetable-consultationDoes look like Sheffield-Leeds corridor comes out of this quite well although at the expense of some of the 'extremities' on their network. If nothing else it would be good to have the extra peak service between Sheffield and Leeds.
