I recently spent a couple of days over there and had occasion to use the tram. My very unscientific opinion, having travelled the length of the system, twice, is that they are noisier and far less comfortable than ours and they appeared to be narrower inside. Anyone else used them and what was your opinion...indeed, of any of the other systems?

All low floor trams are noisy I have traveled on many in Europe and they are all the same . When I was there in October I felt the track needed grinding in places , the environment in Blackpool is difficult .

Might appear to be narrower, but unlikely to be so, as when the track was upgraded they spaced the two lines to be slightly further out from the traction poles.

They do feel quite cramped inside - even though they're longer the standing load feels like it would be less than Supertram's

They do feel quite cramped inside - even though they're longer the standing load feels like it would be less than Supertram's The standing load is actually more, thanks to the increase in low floor section over ours which means there's less seats, and more room for standees, however the stated capacity is slightly less. The lower stated capacity is caused by the difference in tram length - 32m compared to the 35m of one of ours. (For the record - B'pool Flexity 2 is 78 seated + 148 standing, Supertram is 86 seated + 155 standing) They are the same width as one of our trams, 2.65m.

Had a few days in blackpool early november and agree that they are noisier and they are less reiable than sheffield supertrams (2 different trams broke down at starr gate depot delaying all services in the morning rush hour 2 days running), still i quite like the new trams and it will be handy if the new spur upto blackpool north rail station gets the go ahead
