Thorpe Hesley has been screwed with these changes. It is no longer possible to travel from Chapelfield Rd 'terminus' to Chapeltown or vice versa. 136 only reaching Red Lion/Horse & Tiger. That's an interesting left turn!!!

That's an interesting left turn!!! One of the reasons chapelfield has been served for so long was because of buses grounding there. That was in the days of step entry buses. Maybe low floor buses have better clearamce. Will keep the lads in refurb busy. Oh hang on.....

What do you expect we've got Bus partnerships that have & are wrecking services it doesn't bother them what they dream up next as long as it works on paper..... Stuff the passengers.... Who are part of the partnerships the bus companies SYPTE & local councillors. Need I say any more........

How much longer do we have to suffer the incompetence of First?

How much longer do we have to suffer the incompetence of First? I don't think it will be much longer. It will go one of two ways I think. They'll either do a Kernow or just say, bugger this, let's get rid. This halfway house (no pun intended to ex-SYT depots!) is no good for anyone.

First won't be going anywhere.even if they did stagecoach would not cope. Stagecoach can't cope now. They certainly don't give a damn about passenger's. Let's just say. It's been quoted that stagecoach don't provide a service for people to get to the doctors or even school kids.. Just look at what's happening to the circles.

I am quite sure that first will claim to be in control and in some ways they certainly are. My view is that they are using the tried and proven failed system of spider management. In case aanyone is not sure what spider management is, it is where you look at a spider and decide it has too many legs so you pull one off. It is then unbalanced so you pull another one off. This keeps going until the spider can't move as it hasn't got enough legs.
I think we are one leg away.... ...

I suppose that, in the case of the Thorpe Hesley corridor, demand to central Rotherham has been dropping off over the years - understandably because central Rotherham has seen a lot of shops close (move to Meadowhall/ Parkgate), and there's not enough to sustain the long established half-hourly service.
So, they've tried to keep the current two buses, one of which runs as now to the back streets of Thorpe Hesley, with the second one running faster to Chapletown (since the current Chapletown - Rotherham journey time is pretty slow, given the diversion off the main road through Thorpe Hesley).
Yes, it's a PVR cut (yet another one), given the reduction to one per hour as far as Chapletown and the cut to the 138, it's ever decreasing circles, it's a bad move, but any operator would struggle with a town like Rotherham, unless you find the PVR to extend everything to Parkgate/ Meadowhall/ Hospital.
Plenty of other regrettable cuts elsewhere on the network. At least Kimberworth is getting a direct Sheffield link now.
(can't argue with Duncan't spider comparison though - sadly accurate!)

To be fair, there are pvr savings that could and should be made but the people in the position to do it can't seem to see them. I have previously referred to the lack of ideas from the company and they can't stop proving it.

Thorpe Hesley would benefit from the extension of Stagecoach 88 currently to Smithywood. Provide link to Ecclesfield (doctors, Morrisons) Northern General Hospital & Sheffield.

I for one can understand some of the changes the 85 going to every hour and the 57, no point carting fresh air around just not financially viable.
One of my main concerns is with the SL1. I know quite a fair few people who catch the 20:25 tram from town and this reaches Hillsborough 5 minutes after the SL1 departs. I understand that the tram and bus do not interwork to an extent, but surely an extra 8 minutes lay over at Hillsborough or Middlewood would benefit slot of people? Instead people have to wait for a further 25 minutes for the SL1A which is annoying if you live at top end of Deepcar.
Seems the 96 was short lived, can they get that route correct? Haha
