Stagecoach Yorkshire are proposing to make some changes to buses 217 and 218 from 2 September 2018.
The 217 and 218 buses are carrying less customers due to changes in society and personal lifestyles. People are travelling less – this is due to a number of reasons, including the continued growth in internet shopping and more flexible working arrangements such as working from home some of the time.
To ensure the long term sustainability of your local bus network, we need to make some changes. However we are also keen to make sure your buses still take you where you need to go and so we want to hear from you about what you think.
The proposals
Service 217 would stop running. Unfortunately this will leave Lime Grove without a bus service but the numbers using the bus on this short section of route are very low and the service doesn’t cover its costs of operation. From Lime Grove the distance to a bus stop is relatively short and only two bus stops will no longer be served.
Service 218 would continue to run every half hour. The timetable would be amended to improve punctuality and make the service more reliable.

The consultation for these services will close on 15 June 2018
