Heard that 135a (Rotherham - High Green - Sheffield) could be run by first instead of TM Travel.

That's possible if the tender is up for renewal, First have decided to take it on commercially or TM have chosen to walk away from the contract. Not sure how likely the latter two are.

The bus driver said because TM Travel have gained 29a back off first they have to give up a route Unless he means give it up due to driver/bus shortage. Tenders are won/lost by operators TM got the 29a/34 First got 111/137 possibly others but there the ones of top of my head there's nothing to stop any operator winning all the tenders as far as i'm aware. They don't have to give up a route if they've won a tender. I don't think any tenders are up for renewal although could be wrong. First could have offered to run it commercially then the PTE would pull the tender. Seems a strange one but I think TM will still be operating the 135a until the tender is up for renewal.

Didn't realise First had took them on commercially. Cheers
