Hi,

Revenue is the money that a bus company earns - that will be the cash that comes through the farebox but also money from the local council/ PTE/ Government (if a route is subsidised, fuel rebates etc).

Profit is the money left over when all expenses have been paid (staff, fuel, vehicle replacement, maintenance, insurance etc)

Some businesses like to quote revenue to make them sound more important but profit is what really matters - you might bring in a million pounds of revenue but if there's no profit then you're doing it for no benefit
