southyorkshire-ca.gov.uk/South-Yorkshire-Enhanced-PartnershipPublic consultation: Friday 7 January - Sunday 20 February 2022 You can take part in the consultation by completing our consultation questionnaire online, or pick up a paper copy from one of our interchanges. The Plan and Scheme are statutory documents which require consultation by law under the Transport Act 2000, section 138F. Your views will help us understand if the proposals within the Enhanced Partnership Plan and the actions to achieve them in the Enhanced Partnership Scheme are ambitious and extensive enough to deliver the change we all want to see on South Yorkshire’s bus network. We have bold ambitions a cap on daily and weekly fares and free travel for under 18s a faster, more reliable and punctual system a better bus experience a new zero emission bus fleet

So, more buses, better buses, lower fares. Given that nobody wants to drive buses in South Yorkshire or anywhere else, the operators in South Yorkshire are barely breaking even, and every time this comes up the councils promise road and infrastructure improvements and fail to deliver...... I also understand that the central government funding they are chasing is only available to regions that have route franchising and have a cut off date that means we would never qualify, why are we even consulting on this? Dear Old Dan just keeping his name in the papers maybe?

The fleet with First & Stagecoach is the newest it has ever been (remember 25 year old Dominators?), comfortable seating too. They need to take the wooden stops out of the windows though so that they can close properly. In terms of areas served and frequency, yes it could be improved. I had to laugh at Dan Jarvis's suggestion of free travel for all under 18s 😂, that's not going to happen!
