On the most recent First Sheffield network guide, there was a big mistake on the city centre map. All the names of buildings were hidden under the buildings! Also, has anyone noticed that they are not showing the Supertram track on it anymore? Have some feathers been ruffled maybe...

Also, has anyone noticed that they are not showing the Supertram track on it anymore? Have some feathers been ruffled maybe... I hadn't noticed the first one, but have just checked and you're absolutely right! Although its been corrected on the newer "Student Edition" bus guide, and presumably also will be on the next edition, apparently due imminently. As for the supertram, its been like that ever since Stagecoach Sheffield started. Wonder why?

Havent got any sheffield one yet, as nothing major really changes, and havent seen any anywhere, picked up a donny one on saturday it's ok, but my favourite is the rotherham one, due to the reference grid, and the way it's set out.

Well it depends if 04jessops was referring to the post-January one (which I don't think is available yet but due soon), or the October one, which also contains the error described. But the tram has been missing ever since the 80 launch Student Edition, and in every Student/full edition since. I'll be looking out for the full edition soon.
Wonder why its yellow though? I though it would be red since Rotherham is green.

Here is a photo i just took of the rotherham one, you can just make out the grid reference in it, and the key index in the bottom right.

Guys, the new map is ready and should be out soon. Its red for what its worth and has Meadowhall for the photo.
Needless to say (for whatever reason) there are no longer tram lines on it, but when the map was proofed i don't recall the city map being wrong. Indeed, having just checked on - its correct.

Oh, and only Rotherham has the grid as a trial - it is not on any other map (as yet).

I meant the Sheffield one with Millenium Galleries on the front. :-)

I wonder what the logic is of not showing routes 268/9 on the First Sheffield Network Guide? It is not in the most recent one or the one from October. It must be the only First route with the exception of school routes not to be shown on the guide?

The 723/32 was not shown either for what it was worth.
The 268/9 has just been omitted i guess (never really seemed that big a deal). I don't think it really makes much of a difference though. You'll see what i mean shortly.

As for the 723/32, that omission explains why I had never heard of these routes until I found this forum.

The traditional theory was always that odd-ball non-regular routes such as these didn't get on. However, over time the 51A was added, so was 70/70A etc and in the end the absence of the above mentioned routes was more a rarity than a rule.
I couldn't comment on where next for the 268 and 269. All will become clear in time.

It would be more useful if SYPTE / Travel South Yorkshire produced a network map like First's, but showing all the services in Sheffield, including tram and train information. It would be very complex and difficult to fit everything on, but it would be useful!
