I have found this video on YouTube of a bus driver facing verbal abuse from some clown in Wincobank who thought it would be a good idea to drive up the kerb and then blamed the bus driver when it damaged his wheel.
The car shouldn't have driven up the kerb. It shouldn't be on the pavement ever. It's not the bus drivers fault he chose to do that. The language is disgusting. I feel sorry for the bus drivers who have to put up with this kind of abuse. It can't be pleasant. It appears to be in at, on the Sandstone estate. Areas like this don't desehrve a bus service if this is how they treat the companies and employees that serve them. I live around a mile walk from the nearest bus stop (with an uphill walk to get back), me and neighbours dearly miss our local service and there were no incidents like this, or the incidents like window smashing that goes on up High Green. Doesn't seem fair really.
Anyway, I hope the driver is alright. Thank goodness for the anti-assault screens!

Just seen the video, and then people wonder why buses don't turn up and driver shortages to.leave for better conditions when toilets like him in the car abuse a member of staff doing their job, it's about time the bus users sorted the problem out amongst themselves rather than target the actual bus company, this kind of behaviour belongs in a zoo not on the streets, I'm a bus driver myself and it feels like I'm the idiot when I'm trying to deal with society at its finest 🤣🤣

Also just to add to my previous comments I have also found that not having assault screens lessens confrontation as Joe public think the drivers can't get to them with the screen so the public think its acceptable to abuse the driver however take the screen away and it is very much a different ball game

I bet the car driver would moan if they took the buses off that estate and his granny couldn't get to bingo!

That's an interesting take. I often wonder how drivers went on in the 90s, before screens were common. A late night run on the 47 to Herdings or 80 up to High Green or the 41 to Halfway seems even more daunting back then. I suppose if it's a well built, tall and muscular driver, the passenger would be the one missing the screen if they got lippy! The problem is these days the cowards with knives. It's never a fair fist fight these days.

I totally agree with you, it does depend in the build of the driver and the rarity of a proper fist fight now without weapons, I work for a company that doesn't have screens and I don't get no abuse and it's better to hear what the passengers are saying and gives them that customer experience, don't get me wrong I've worked with them plastic screens and I personally think they can do more harm than good, however I do understand why they put them on buses but I also think it gives Joe public the right to abuse or try to assault you as they no they can't get through plastic.

But as I say previously take them away and it's between you.and them face to face and it's a real shame that so many drivers are leaving the industry , and not just because of pay but because of the glorious society 🤔 we live in today by just trying to do their job
