Worth noting also, due to iPort Bridge opening, services 55/56 will be re-routed to serve the iPort estate from Sunday 7th January 2024. Services i4 & X4 will provide a loop around the local estate.

SYMCA have pushed through changes to services 26/26A from 7th January - this will create a new large circular service incorporating Swallownest & Aston partially replacing First service 27, along with re-routing the service out of Holbrook Industrial Estate and onto Rother Valley Way and Hartland Avenue at Sothall to partially replace Stagecoach service 80.
Both services will operate roughly every 2hrs as present, with the route remaining the same between Wales Bar and Norwood (via Thorpe Salvin).

From what it appears in the Star article the new route will be one big circle rather than the current lollipop shape with Killamarsh getting less buses as a result, with passengers travelling between Killamarsh and Crystal Peaks directed to catch the Hulleys 80 instead. I assume this will mean the bus can still complete the whole circuit in under an hour maintaining the hourly frequency from Crystal Peaks.

The service will be re-routed away from Holbrook Industrial Estate and serve Rother Valley Way and Owlthorpe Greenway instead. Departure times from Crystal Peaks generally remain the same as now.

Not exactly service changes, but this seemed an appropriate thread. Stagecoach are putting fares up from January: www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/yorkshire/fare-changes-january-2024Return tickets are being withdrawn. They say it's cheaper to buy two £2 singles, I suspect 'base' fares have been hiked to make that the case. I wonder if they'll return if/when the £2 scheme ends? The Chesterfield and Silver day tickets are going up by over 10% to £5 and £6.20 respectively (from £4.40 and £5.60). As the Silver will presumably lose validity on the tram in March and on the back of other recent rises that's quite a hike. The longer period tickets don't seem to have gone up as much - I wonder if they've twigged that people often only travel to the office 2 or 3 days a week now so are more likely to buy day rather than week or month tickets? Other fares are changing but as they are out of my area I'm not going to comment in case I get it wrong.

Stagecoach haven't done return tickets in Sheffield for quite a while now anyway, so it's no surprise they're withdrawing them completely.

Doncaster iPort route changes have been pushed back to 29th January to services 55/56 and X4. This is due to a delay with the construction works of the newly named Porter's Bridge. iPort bridge scheduled to open as planned on Monday 29th January. Services 55/56 and X4 will change as a result. On the subject of the X4, common sense prevails and First will be changing their trips on the X4 to match Goodfellows daytime route around Doncaster Sheffield Airport Business Park from 7 April, at the request of SYMCA.
