One Question I have-why dont the bus companies, put the buses that have allover adverts on them on all routes, instead of specific routes, like 60707 (Weston park), when it was allocated to service 51 only, and that I keep seeing 30562 (Save the Children) on 11/12 everyday. I thought it would make more sense. Also does anybody remember the National Lottery allover advert on the MCW Metrobus Mark 2 a few years ago-that was the worst advert ever in my eyes. What do other people think. Sean When I was at First in York a few years ago a similar question was asked by a local enthusiast, and the answer was fairly simple - at the time there were 3 dedicated "tracker fitted" vehicles which had to work the same boards every day, and 2 of them were the advert buses, hence their regular appearances on the same routes every day.

Have to agree with the general consensus. I'm no fan of bus advertising (generally) and i do tend to envy operators who avoid it. However, theres nothing wrong with advertising yourself, just a bit poor to advertise a car dealership!

the main advert people are cbs outdoor with the actual fitting done by a team based in leeds. whilst on site they are an h+s nightmare. they come sundays to do the full hieght rear ads and halfway through a driver will appear to take bus out!, they dont bother asking whats going out. the amount of mileage lost in fsy has been has been considerable due to the "t" shapes on deckers coming loose, the fastline dominators and olympians were a real pain. it takes cbs a week to just go round the fleet at og.

talking of deckers-why have the B7 batch 31781-31786? with ALX 400 bodywork in Sheffield, never received a rear advert and the other batches have? Just seems very strange.

I am sure I have got this correct, but what are the rear adverts of buses in First South Yorkshire fleet. I have Sheffield ALX400's as:- 30561-Birmingham Loan Sharks Advice 30562-Save the Children allover ad 30563-Pizza Hut Light Lunch 30565-Fiat Punto 30566-Staples 30570-Cleethorpes 30571-Staples 30574-University of Derby 30575-Fiat Punto 30576-First-Take a BREATHER 30577-Staples 30578-Easy Jet 31130-Pizza Hut Light Lunch 31133-University of Derby
What are the rear adverts for buses in Rotherham and Doncaster? I know one of Rotherham's ALX400's has a rear advert for Pizza Hut Light Lunch.
Do the following buses still have these rear adverts:- Sheffield ALX400's:- 31131-Nokia Phones 31135-Sandisk Memory Stick 31138-Rataouille Film 31139-Sandisk Memory Stick
Rotherham/Doncaster ALX400's:- 30904-Bradford regeneration scheme 31776-Spotline Occasion wear of Doncaster 31777-Atteys Solicitors of Doncaster

In Rotherham it is 30878 that has the PizzaHut Ligh Lunch advert, which is the same as that on 30563. I am 90% sure that 31138 now has no adverts on too.

Myself today, I've noticed that 30571 doesn't have a rear ad anymore.

30565 has a new rear advert, its a multi-coloured one for a bicentennial contemporary art festival in Sheffield. Also 31138 has a rear advert for the Fiat Punto.

Only spotted this today and it did seem strange that they were advertising Liverpool in Sheffield, but then aghain not long ago we had the Cleethorpes advert and a few years back we did have the Fantasy Island & Market in Skegness advertised on the buses of Sheffield & Rotherham.

I have been thinking recently about this, the situation with First & Tm Travel is a great example, First have mega side ads, mega rear ads, rear ads, interior ads and side ads on their buses, but Tm Travel have no ads what so ever. Do you prefer the look of Tm Travel buses (no ads) compared to the look of First buses (ads)? Me personally I prefer buses with ads on as it gives more character to the vehicle, and stops it looking dull over time, but I realise that some people may prefer buses when they have no ads on, just like when they are brand new for example. Do not like them with adverts as with most liveries it seems to spoil them and takes peoples attention away from the bus and onto the adverts. Well done to TM Travel who do not allow advertising on their buses. Tony.

34241 still has the Harry Potter advert, it had this before the move to Olive Grove and on the return from Olive Grove over a year later it still retains this advert, have CBS forgot about this one, or can they just not get it off the bus.?

Chesterfield Olympian R582JVA still has "The Brave One" and "Halloween" Adverts on from Last September, these were not in ad frames so are very tatty and peeled, they have had these since transferring from Yorkshire to Chesterfield. N719LTN also has a "Halo 3" ad, this has been there since transferring from Yorkshire.
