Not a good day for allocators it seems today at SiS.
Holbrook have managed 52 branded 26106 and 26109 on the 120. That damn work experience lad!
Oh well, these things happen.
In fact, although it may just have been my timing, i haven't actually seen a branded B6BLE today at all.

Seems the problem also extends to Ecclesfield, as I rode on a B6 (L503OAL I think) on the 88 today. Isn't the 88 supposed to be all Low Floor now?
Hopefully it was just a mistake, or maybe covering for vehicles broken down or being repainted.

The PVR for service 88 is 14, there are only 10 darts, so thats why sometimes you see b6's, p101 ndt and other low floor buses on service 88 aswell as the darts.
Also another thing what i have noticed is stagecoach seem to want to brand every bus whats on the 120/52/88/83 but then what happenes if they need a spare etc.
Think that may be why ub saw a 52 branded bus on the 120 earlier.

Yes, well inevitably i later saw B6BLE 31910 branded up for the 120 - on the 52.
Now FSY aint whiter than white on this, but then again Olive Grove is three times the size of SiS and it is Saturday. Nonetheless, maybe its just a bad day at the office.
And Tox, although there are only 10 NEW Darts there are also 4 Darts that came from Manchester, although initially i assumed they were for the 83 as they seem to spend some time on there. The standard Terrier S-XHE and T-JKY types do also seem to spend a fair amount of time on those routes.

The 83 seems to be the exception, AFAIK there are only 6 83-branded buses. I assume this is because they don't want to brand any more buses that are due to be scrapped soon! So the PVR for the 88 is only 14? It seems like much more than that. I live on this route, and I would say that there is no way that 70% of the 88's buses are the branded darts. It seems like you are lucky if a new dart comes along, and and are equally likely to get a Spryte, ex-Manchester Pointer Dart (the T-AUA one still has Manchester adverts i believe!) or one of those rather poor Y-XRNs instead. So I wonder where all those darts go when they're seemingly not on the 88? But I have to say that I have never seen Stagecoach branded buses on the wrong routes yet, and I have only seen a handful of B6s (barring P101NDT) on the 88 since it went low floor. @ Utterly Butterly - from what I have seen the R-TWFs are also common on these routes, seemingly more so than the S and T reg ones.

I also live on the 88 route, aswell as the 72a/66/77/75/76. (Curios where abouts do you live cjm?)
Back to the topic the t reg darts will never appear on the 88 as these are based at holbrook and mainly used on service 25 and 120. the s reg and r reg ones moved from holbrook to ecclesfield a while back to make the 88 fully loe floor, as the PVR for the 88 is 14, yes 14! sp they required 4 extra buses which were 127/8/9/30 but these are mostly used on the 83, and the 4 ex manchester buses seem to go on route 37 a lot now.

Let me amend my point slightly. I wasn't specifically suggesting the S & T reg East Lancs Darts were there, just merely the type. You are of course quite right, the R batch are more common thinking about it.
I assure you that there are at least 3 misplaced buses out there today (and i wasn't looking for them, just per chance) so it happens. I've also noticed a large number of B6s floating around recently, on 25, 52, 83 (obviously), 88 and even 120. Maybe its repaint, maybe some mishaps but it does happen. You tend to see these things more whilst 'out and about' in the week.
The PVR on the 88 was - i believed - 15 (could be wrong). Either way itsw a far cry from the Terrier of old where big routes seemed to be avoided in favour of wider (if ill-judged) coverage.
