The 59 duty today was a spud - obviously someone thought "oh, it's only an hourly route, nobody uses it" - wrong! The 0900 ex Bessacarr was at standing capacity by halfway through Cantley.

As for the wierdist alocation i have ever seen it has to go to the powells metrobus on the 398 (Conisbrough Circular) when they know the darts were having great difficulty turning some of the corners! other than that there is always the 52 beanded bus on the 120! Reminds me of Woodholm Road, a very small road that always has parked cars both sides, and is very hard to turn out of due to the weird 5-way crossroads at the Knowle Lane terminus. MASS have a worrying obsession with running their massive 3-axle things up there!

Well in fairness, i'll bet a fair proportion of that trade is Tues/Fri only and would be more than capable of waiting the few minutes until a 57 was available. Whether a SPUD should be used or not is another matter, clearly not appropriate for that journey. However, my recollection of the 59 (fussy though it is) is that its been through phases as 89/M89 (correct) and therefore has managed with a mini in the past? Also, can i just make the point that allocators are not steeped in the business of each journey within a running board. They are *supposed* to follow a set list of allocations (i.e. any LF d/deck on 15 for example), however, there are boards when its "owt". Perhaps not their faults. I would also remind you that we have been critical of situations where branded buses have gotten on the wrong route, or where low floor routes are provided correctly (as per your love affair with 205). The fact that a LF bus was used on 59 does not necessarily constitute a poor allocation. Indeed only yesterday i believe you said a 58 branded (that is a bad allocation!) B6BLE was on the 59. That was your complaint then but i see no mention of any overcrowding! So clearly that being the case the 0900 may not always be so.

Probably not worth continually mentioning, but just as a surprise there was a 52 DAF on the 120 again yesterday (snore) so i guess they aren't in a hurry to get it right!
And in case the ghost of YTC lingers, yes it was also yet another episode of spot the B10M on OverGround, the modern bus version of where's wally. First it was 48, then.......

It seems who ever decided what buses go where at Mass today didn't think of putting similar types in similar places the 191 had 1 trident, 1 LF dart & a Metrorider pritty much a bit of everything while the 195 + 196 had two titans. Id have thought all deckers on the 191 & a single + mini on the 195/196 would have being more logical. Or have 2 mini's/ 2 single decks on the 195/196 & have the left over bus either a mini or a single deck depending on how you do it down at retford on the 29. From what i saw of First, powells & Stagecoach today most things seemed to be in place part from a solo on the 1 in rotherham (Stagecoach) & severall Scania's on the X92 with atleast 1 evolution though. Also seems Powells have put their Mini Merc/ Mercs back on the M13, recently its being a Wright bodied Dart.
