The five A1 solos are to receive a new two tone blue and white livery with Travel South Yorkshire branding designed by the PTE.
Not sure when this is due to start but shouldn't be long now, i think it will be more or less like the job link and ruarl links livery on some other solos.

The only Solo that ever turns up in Donny is a red liveried one, and that's only once every month or so. At other times, Merc Minis are used on the routes. Low floor conversion anyone?

Im guessing the PTE has got bored of Yellow & Blue then. Myself i dont see how having the buses in a PTE livery will benefit anybody or the service, as the service still will be an expensive option for anybody unless the have a travelmaster & still will be run by a crap operator with on the whole ignorant drivers who are regularly early/ late. I'd have thought seeing as the PTE is so skint (as they constantly claim) that spending money on having somebody design a livery would be better spent on areas where they've not got sufficent funds.

I would assume that the new PTE livery will also be applied to 'SAFEMARK' Dart 45322 which has recently lost Barbie 2 in favour of plain white.

Surely the obvious idea would have been for SYPTE to have got their head out of their arse and actually awarded the contract to a decent operator. The way I see it is First did fine with A1, so why alter it to save a couple of quid.

Thats true, when the A1 first started i believe First, YTC & Powells all but into run it and id imagine the same this time round (stagecoach instead of YTC) i think any of these even Powells would have done a better job, Veolia may have new solo's but every other apsect of the service is crap & staff wise many are really scraping the bottom of the barrol, thats the PTE for you though anything to save a few quid. In regards to this new PTE livery wouldn’t it have being better to design it for when the A1 tender started or allow veolia to paint these buses into their own livery then put the new PTE livery on another route when the livery had being designed and when the tender for another suitable route was up for grabs?
