Who remembers South Riding (Tanport) from around 1993 - 95. They seemed to come out of nowhere and were bought out by Yorkshire Traction in late 94. Does anyone know who the owners were and what routes they ran? Also, what memories do you have of them? Cheers.

I can vaguely remember them as the depot was only around the corner from my house in Blackburn, I think this was covered before and there was a list of all routes that they ran and where they ran to and how they were formed, I will have a quick search now for you

Im certain I can remember seeing these on the odd occasion in Sheffield but thought it was more late 80s than in the 90s.

Speaking of South Riding, does anyone have a photo of any of these buses in SR livery that you could post?

Yes but weren't all of the Andrews Leyland Nationals ex South Riding ones? Prior to the YTC takeover Andrews had an all double deck fleet and didn't the nationals get transfered to Andrews after YTC transfered South Ridings work to the Andrews and Terrier ops?

South Riding was owned by Andrew Gunning who was the former General Manager of SUT Ltd and previously National Travel EAST at Charlotte Road. Presumably Andrew left SUT sometime around the SYT takeover of SUT Ltd.

Yes, don't call us we'll call you!
In terms of historical usefulness, that comment sadly scores quite low.

did they operate any services into Rotherham? Yes, the 278 from Conisbrough to Sheffield Mon-Fri morning Peak, and the 600 Meadowhall to Rotherham Saturdays only.

85 Hunters Bar (poss. Banner X) - City - Stannington It will have been Hunters Bar since there's nowhere to terminate a bus at Banner Cross. If there was I bet the 90 would use it!
