As 3jm stated yes it was, however one change Stagecoach did make was to extend it further into Fulwood. If i recall correctly the Terrier 120 terminated at Brooklands Avenue/ Crescent, at the bottom of Fulwood where the most 86 runs turn, whilst Stagecoach extended it upto Barncliffe Rd running via the present route.

That's correct, it was in retaliation to First running to Rawmarsh, they first tried the 39 to Kimberworth then First introduced the 39 following the exact same route 5 minutes in front they withdrew the 39 and extended the 120 in Sheffield. Shortly after they started the 1 to Maltby.

Aye, the initial 120 was sut from Crystal Peaks to Moorhead.
Wen they were bought by SYT, Terrier took over the route, extending it to Halfway (I think the 41 still terminated Crystal Peaks at the time).
Then, around 1992 (ish) restrictions meant routes couldn't terminate in the city centre (other than the Bus Station/ Flat Street), meaning a number of "through" links introduced by operators (like the Andrews 247/248 from Totley to Shiregreen, replacing their 24 and 47/48...), Terrier extended the 120 to the Hallamshire (partly replacing their thrice hourly 60 to Fulwood).
Shortly afterwards, alternate journeys on the Mainline 41 were diverted away from Jordanthorpe to serve the Hallamshire instead, and the rest is recent history...

Does anyone remember services 19 which operated between Stannington Woodfarm Drive and City Centre? Also service 20 which operated between Stannington and Meadowhall? IIRC Not sure though. Here is an image of the old Bus terminus which is located off Wood Lane. Jakerton. Attachments:

The Ecclesfield depot ran the 37 High Green (or did it terminate at Chapletown?) - Meadowhall going via Ecclesfield, Southey Green, Firth Park and Wincobank (briefly). Which was normally operated by the B6 Darts, B6BLEs or the SLF Darts. They also operated the 73 which went the same route but missed Southey Green, Firth Park and Wincobank out by going straight along Wooley Wood Bottom (Green Lane and Ecclesfield Road). They were mainly operated by the older double deckers (Olympians?)if I remember rightly?

I'm quite surprised Stagecoach didn't keep a service operating to Meadowhall. Would have thought that got quite a few passengers.

Each were every hour & combined to be every 30 minutes over common sections. The 73 was run with ex TWM Metrobuses with the Galaxy 105 liveried one a regular on the route. It was hourly Mon - Fri & for a while every 30 minutes on Saturdays.

From Stannington went straight down Stannington Road then went onto Bradfield (Where the 201 service used to serve this section) Then onto Herries Road then Barnsley Road passed Nth Gen Hosp through to Firth Park...The allocation were Dart's? Jakerton.
