Heres details of my 1/24 scale model Mk 1 Metrobus 496 - JWF 496W, which was converted from the London spec one which is available. The main difference with real SYPTE spec bodywork was that the bodyshell was built to single door spec , with the dual door added at the latter stage almost as an after-thought , after the staircase was in place , meaning the centre door had to be closer to the front than usual . On the model , the conversion consisted mostly of : Dismantle and strip paintwork Move centre door forward ,and make new windows fore and aft. Make four-leaf doors Fill side destination and make new route no. destination Make front split-step entrance Make new front and rear destination panels Alter lower o/s windows to single door spec Move staircase from centre , to behind drivers cab . and adjust seating ect to suit. Bus painted in its second livery of standard SYT . (SYPTE livery when new) All transfers homemade. Heres some pics which show the various stages ….. .

These are amazing transit, I don't think I'd have the patience to do anything of the sort. Out of interest do you have a photo of all of your completed conversions together?

As a modeler of railways, can one say most excelent dude. One problem, I don`t think they were ever that clean, even when they left the factory <VBG>.
