Dear Members, As you may or may not be aware, we recently relaunched the main site ( www.sy-transport.co.uk) on Thursday, 1 September and one of the new features of the website is a geographical public transport network map, that covers all bus, tram and train routes within South Yorkshire and also contains detailed information in outlying areas across the border such as Dronfield in Derbyshire. We're keen to hear what you have to say about the map, if you have any suggestions for further updates that will come about as and when service changes take place. Please note: If you have spotted a mistake, please contact us directly via the Contact Us page on the main website ( www.sy-transport.co.uk/contact.htm), so that the information can be processed as quickly as possible. Notes on the forum are welcome, but may go unnoticed in some cases. Map Link: www.sy-transport.co.uk/maps.htmMap Overview: Map Key: Map FAQs: What do I need to view the map?All you need is Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If you do not have this FREE piece of software installed on your computer, you can download it from the official Adobe Acrobat website by clicking on the following link - get.adobe.com/uk/reader/. The file will not open - what shall I do?The map is a large file size (approx 5.6MB), which may cause problems on a slower internet connection. Try right clicking on the button to the right, and selecting "Save Link As" or "Save Target As" to save the file on your hard drive. Do you operate the bus/tram/train services? No. This map is not connected with any transport operator or authority. For detailed route & timetable information please use operator publicity or visit www.travelsouthyorkshire.com. Is the map available as an image/slippy map etc.?The map is currently only available as a PDF file, but may become available in other formats at a later date. This will be subject to further investigation. I have noticed an error on the map - can you correct it?Please submit any errors, goofs or suggestions to us, by using the contact form, which is located on the Contact Us page of this website. Please state the error, goof or suggestions in full detail. If you require any further help or assistance in using and/or downloading the new network map, then please do not hesitate to contact us. Please use the Contact Form with regards to the network map, that can be accessed here - www.sy-transport.co.uk/contact.htm. Thanks, Staff at South Yorkshire Transport

Fantastic map and a brilliant effort all around, why on earth SYPTE can not produce something similar, given we pay our council taxes to them to provide this sort of stuff to the public and make public transport more accessible for all, is beyond me.
Have noted a slight mistake on the map, in case anyone else has seen/logged it. This is the 72 route around the Tanskersley Village area. Have sent an email as stated in the message above regarding this slight route error.
Keep up the good work!

Impressive stuff. Very clear and easy to read, just a shame we don't have this or something similar in big-print placed onto the walls and notices boards at the main transport interchanges throughout the county.

The mistake regarding the 72 route has now been rectified, along with the first batch of errors noted. All 5 were generally minor, apart from the omission of the 17 route around the Ecclesfield loop. This has now been addressed and the updated map is now live.
Please keep any feedback and suggestions coming, either on this thread or via the contact us page of the main website.
Thanks, Staff at South Yorkshire Transport

Excellent map and its a real shame that the PTE who our taxes go towards funding, could not have come up with a similar concept, rather than those pathetic and rather pointless spider network diagrams in the various interchanges throughout the county.
Everything looks good in South Sheffield and have not come across any mistakes as of yet. Will have a more detailed look later on this evening.
It's also good to see that the boundaries for the TavelMaster tickets are included in this map, something which the PTE doesn't produce anymore (not everyone has knowledge on this, especially the travelling public) and it's also good to see that immediate villages just over the border are also included in the map, such as Dronfield and Coal Aston in my case.

The Sheffield 'megarider' zone part needs to be extended to all of Coal Aston and to the Hallowes PH, in Dronfield.

I have to say I am very impressed with this effort, SYPTE could learn a trick or two from this. Just a shame that the authority/organisation which our taxes go towards, can not even come up with a basic map such as this one. Maybe worth sending it in to SYPTE to see if they want to use it to create some printed copies as a trial?
Looked in close detail at the network around South East Sheffield where I am most familiar with and can see no mistakes located on the map so far.

I think you could become very rich if you sold this to the PTE! ;D

They do have the interactive map which does a similar job - however this map is generally more accurate and the amount of work that has gone into this one is far greater. I find both very useful!

Very good but a far too big file. You could also make the codes less wordy.
