As part of the recent announcement of the Better Bus Fund from the government, Rotherham Council have been awarded a share of the funding to further enhance the A630 Thrybergh - Rotherham SmartRoute. The works will include the following: * Traffic light renewal from pelican to puffin/toucan crossings at 3 locations: Cottenham Road, Cranworth Hotel, Dalton Lane. The current pelican crossing at the junction of St. John's Road / Fitzwilliam Road will be removed and replaced with a traffic island due to poor usage. * A new inbound bus lane along Whinney Hill. * A new signalised junction at Dalton (Oldgate Lane / Doncaster Road). Plans: According to data obtained from the council, works are expected to start on site from June. The new inbound bus lane on Whinney Hill being the 1st phase of the project.
